A small series about the Dutch Polder. The third one in the series.
An image of one of the many modern wind water mills that can be found in the Dutch polders. Mainly used to drain a small piece of land to keep it dry. 1150 of this modern type can be found in the Netherlands. Made of an iron base consisting out of a vane pump driven by 4 aluminum blades with a diameter of 3 meter (10ft). The mill has a capacity of 60 cubic meter / hour (15850 gallon/hour) depending of the wind speed and working head.

In the little village Pontaix, France a small pool and waterfall can be found. The pool itself is very small. A small river is going down creating the waterfall. Whereafter the river ends up in the Drome.
It was a bit of a challenge. When I arrived a lot of soap bubbles collected on the rocks and in the pool. Probably someone throwed shampoo in the pool. I had to clean up the mess for the photo as the bubbles were 0.5 meter high. Finally when it was clean it started to rain, really a lot of rain. I managed to create photos with my filters. Standing there in the rain on slippery rocks caused by mud and soap. I was completley soaked and protecting my camera with towls. Camera dry, me soaked, image taken -> going back to the vacation house….
Close to the little town Brette (France) there is a small waterfall in the river La Brette. In the middel of the Drome a very nice and serene place to swimm in the water and having fun.
