My name is Marco Maljaars and I live in the municipality of Velsen near the coast and close to the Markermeer. I’ve always been photographing since I was a kid, first with an Olympus analog camera and now digitally. There has always been an interest in long exposures. It fascinates me enormously how everything fades and a different world arises.
My work focuses on stillness, tranquility and serenity. Which is expressed in black and white where the long exposure is most of the times used.

My work can be bought via Tones Gallery. Prints are available in several sizes. All works have a Certificate of Authenticity and a unique serial number and are printed on fine-art Hahnemühle paper.

My images have been published in several magazines and I give lectures about my work and vision.
workshops
My workshops are extensive and with personal attention. I take the time and like to tell you about this beautiful form of photography. The workshops vary from Long Exposure technique to editing and lectures on Minimalism.
Various photographers have followed these workshops and they were all very enthusiastic. Workshops for individuals have been given but also for graduates of the Alumni Dutch Academy of Image Creation (NAvB).
Lectures
My lectures are inspiring and with a lot of visual material. In which I like to share my enthusiasm for minimalism and long exposure.
My lectures are suitable for every audience like experienced photographers, photo clubs or events.
